Part 9: Practice Filing Entry Summary in ACE Using SmartBorder® or Similar ABI Software is ninth in a nine-part series of introductory classes on US Customs Brokerage. It should be taken only after completion of courses 1-8 in the “Introduction to US Customs Brokerage” series.
This course gives students the opportunity to practice file Entry Summaries using Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) software to access the ABI system. Air, Ocean and Border Case studies will be provided. Using sample documents, you will determine if trade agreements or partner government agencies are in play, and gather the information necessary to file, such as duties, fees, entry type, importer of record, customs bonds, etc. Using ACE software, you will practice creating printable entry summaries, single entry bonds (without transmission to CBP), and customer invoices. If your ACE software does not offer this functionality, access to the SmartBorder® ABI system is included with this course upon request.
Once you finish this course, a printable Certificate of Completion will be available for download. The course can be completed in 16 hours or less and earns NCBFAA-registered students 16 CCS continuing education credits.
For those who are already a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or a Certified Export Specialist (CES) registered with the NCBFAA, provide us with your CCS/CES ID number and you will automatically get continuing education credits upon the successful completion of a qualified course.
