This class is for customs brokers and importers who file entries for steel mill and aluminum products subject to additional duties under Section 232 of the Trade Act of 1974. It addresses practical operational issues such as: the list of affected products, the applicable HTSUS Chapter 99 tariff numbers, the consequences of failure to add the additional tariff line item and duty when applicable, importer bond sufficiency and where to obtain additional information as further developments arise.

 

Once you finish this course, a printable Certificate of Completion will be available for download. The course can be completed in about 2.5 hours and earns NCBFAA-registered students 2.25 CCS continuing education credits.

For those who are already a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or a Certified Export Specialist (CES) registered with the NCBFAA, provide us with your CCS/CES ID number and you will automatically get continuing education credits upon the successful completion of a qualified course. To get your CE credits, follow these easy steps:

 

  1. Register for DB Schenker online training (if you haven’t already done so)
  2. Login with your user name and password, and you will be directed to your “My Page” section.
  3. Select “Update user record” on the right, enter your CCS or CES number in the “NCBFAA ID” field, and click Submit Update.

That’s it! Once you’re signed up, we’ll automatically send any CE credits you earn directly to the NCBFAA!
