This HTSUS class is the first in a series of courses that breakdown the training offered in C6u — US Customs Tariff Classification Basics. This course covers the structure of the HTSUS, a strategy for classification and the importance of getting classification right the first time. It can be used as a brush up on how to read the tariff or a precursor to the study of the General and Additional Rules of Interpretation.

Once you finish this course, a printable Certificate of Completion will be available for download. The course can be completed in 6 hours or less and earns NCBFAA-registered students 6 CCS/CES continuing education credits.

For those who are already a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or a Certified Export Specialist (CES) registered with the NCBFAA, provide us with your CCS/CES ID number and you will automatically get continuing education credits upon the successful completion of a qualified course. To get your CE credits, follow these easy steps:

  1. Register for DB Schenker online training (if you haven’t already done so)
  2. Login with your user name and password, and you will be directed to your “My Page” section.
  3. Select “Update user record” on the right, enter your CCS or CES number in the “NCBFAA ID” field, and click Submit Update.

That’s it! Once you’re signed up, we’ll automatically send any CE credits you earn directly to the NCBFAA!
