Often when items are imported into the US, some transaction information required by CBP, such as the final value of imported merchandise, may be undeterminable. Reconciliation allows importers to file customs declarations with the CBP based the best available information at time of import. Later, the importer is able to provide final, corrected information when it is available, allowing it to pay the corrected amount without penalty, or get a refund depending on the final result.
This class includes a history of the US Customs and Border Protection, an overview of the legal mechanism for reconciling entries current procedures, and how this program helps establish uniformity and provides financial safeguards for importers.
Once you finish this course, a printable Certificate of Completion will be available for download. The course can be completed in 3.5 hours or less and earns NCBFAA-registered students 3.5 CCS/CES continuing education credits.
