In order to qualify for transporting loads from one Customs secured location to another, you’ll need to be bonded. This requires approval from your Area Port Director. We get you set up with a Type 2 Custodian Bond and help you prepare all necessary documentation, including obtaining an SCAC code (see below). Once your documents are ready, we’ll prepare a letter for you to submit to the Area Port Director and help you work with them to get approved. Leave the paperwork to us!
We can help you obtain an SCAC code. An SCAC (Standard Carrier Alpha Code) is a unique 4 letter code required to identify carriers and transportation companies to the CBP. This includes all bonded carriers, as well as truckers crossing the border into the United States. It’s required to complete ACE eManifests and to generate Shipment Control Numbers used to identify freight.
Freight Brokers contracting with Motor Carriers for land transportation must be bonded. We get you the best rate & automatically register your bond with the FMCSA.
