This online course is designed for exporters and freight forwarders who are involved in collecting Electronic Export Information (EEI), previously the Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) form, classifying products for export, and preparing and transmitting Automated Export System (AES) records. It is also valuable for Supervisors and those who manage freight forwarders and other agents authorized to perform export declarations on their behalf. It covers documentation requirements that must be fulfilled prior to exporting goods from the US. Special emphasis is given to how to prepare and transmit the shipper’s EEI export declaration using AES.
This class covers: when is an EEI required? Who is responsible for transmit the EEI? What is the criteria for export authorization? How can authority be conveyed from an exporter or foreign consignee to an agent or freight forwarder to transmit an EEI on their behalf? What is US Schedule B classification and how should it be entered in the EEI? How should transaction party information, export authorization citations, product descriptions, export licenses, license exceptions and other information be entered in the EEI? And, what are the exceptions to the requirements and/or alternatives to filing an EEI? For more information about what this class covers, please click the summary below.
