This class is designed to rapidly train staff recently assigned to handle HTSUS (US Customs Harmonized Tariff Schedule) and to fill in the gaps for those who are already performing basic classification but have not been formally trained. The course is updated at the beginning of each year to reflect amendments to the basic HTSUS. Links to download the current HTSUS are provided.
Once you finish this course, a printable Certificate of Completion will be available for download. The course can be completed in 24.5 hours or less and earns NCBFAA-registered students 20 CCS/CES continuing education credits.
Note: To keep this course relatively short, we do not provide complex practical application exercises for GRIs 3 and 4. For more in-depth training, we recommend course C5. Alternatively, for drill and practice purposes after taking this course, we recommend course C8u. Please note that there is also a final exam for certification purposes at the end of C8u.
For those who are already a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or a Certified Export Specialist (CES) registered with the NCBFAA, provide us with your CCS/CES ID number and you will automatically get continuing education credits upon the successful completion of a qualified course. To get your CE credits, follow these easy steps:
That’s it! Once you’re signed up, we’ll automatically send any CE credits you earn directly to the NCBFAA!
